Before the Calendar Fills: Your Colorado Early Holiday Planning Playbook

Elegant holiday party bar setup in Colorado featuring seasonal cocktails and warm lighting

There’s something special about holiday celebrations.

Whether it’s bringing coworkers together to toast another successful year, thanking clients for their partnership, or gathering family and friends around a beautifully decorated table, holiday events have a way of creating lasting memories.

The secret? Those unforgettable celebrations rarely come together at the last minute.

At Peak Beverage, we help bring more than 1,000 events to life each year across Colorado and Texas, and if there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that the most seamless, elevated holiday events all have one thing in common: they start planning early.

And there’s a reason the best planners start early.

According to Challenger, Gray & Christmas, nearly two-thirds of U.S. companies (64%) are planning in-person holiday celebrations, while more businesses than ever are choosing off-site venues to create memorable guest experiences. At the same time, industry research from TripleSeat found that nearly half of event planners begin booking their holiday events at least three months in advance, long before the first holiday decorations appear.

In other words, the calendar starts filling much earlier than many people expect.

Planning now doesn’t just help you secure your preferred venue or vendors. It gives you the flexibility to create an experience that feels intentional, personalized, and uniquely yours.

If you’re celebrating in Colorado, here’s how to get ahead of the season.

Corporate Holiday Planning In denver Colorado

Holiday Planning by the Numbers

  • 64% of U.S. companies are planning in-person holiday celebrations.
  • 59% are choosing off-site venues over traditional office parties.
  • Nearly half of professional event planners begin booking holiday events three to six months before December.
  • According to AAA Colorado, many Coloradans begin making holiday travel and seasonal plans before September, meaning venues, hotels, and transportation begin filling earlier than many hosts realize.

The takeaway? If your ideal event date falls between late November and the end of December, now is the time to begin planning.

Planning a Holiday Party in Colorado

Colorado offers one of the most magical holiday backdrops in the country. Snow-dusted mountains, cozy downtown streets, historic venues, and festive city lights create an atmosphere that’s hard to find anywhere else.

That same charm is what makes December one of the busiest event seasons of the year.

When it comes to planning your holiday party, we have one piece of advice: start early. Early planning provides more flexibility with vendors and venues, and more opportunities to create unforgettable guest experiences.

1. Reserve Your Venue Early

Unlike warmer climate destinations, Colorado’s holiday event season is almost entirely indoors.

That means everyone, from corporate teams celebrating the end of the year to couples hosting winter weddings, is competing for the same weekends throughout November and December.

Downtown Denver venues are particularly popular, especially during the first three weekends of December.

For corporate celebrations, we recommend securing your venue by early September. Social celebrations have a bit more flexibility, but booking by early fall will provide the best selection of dates and spaces.

2. Design Around the Guest Experience

Colorado weather is part of the magic, which also means it should be part of your plan.

Building in a little extra flexibility for vendor arrival, offering convenient coat check options, and communicating parking or transportation information ahead of time all contribute to a smoother guest experience.

It’s also the perfect excuse to embrace the season.

Few things welcome guests more warmly than arriving to a beautifully crafted cocktail that instantly takes the chill off the evening. Thoughtful seasonal beverages aren’t simply decorative; they’re an unforgettable part of the overall event experience.

3. Think Beyond the Bar

The best beverage programs consider the guest above all else.

They help shape how guests move through a space, where conversations naturally happen, and anticipate the energy of the evening.

Indoor venues concentrate guests into a smaller footprint, making bar placement, staffing, and service style especially important.

Planning these details early allows your beverage team to work alongside your venue and event planner, creating a guest experience that feels effortless from the first welcome cocktail through the final toast.

The Holidays Have a Way of Arriving Faster Than We Expect

The best celebrations rarely happen by accident.

They happen because the right venue was available. The beverage menu was thoughtfully curated. Every detail had room to come together with intention rather than urgency.

Planning early doesn’t simply reserve a date on the calendar; it gives you the freedom to create an event your guests will remember long after the season ends.

Whether you’re hosting an intimate gathering, an elegant client appreciation event, or a company-wide holiday celebration, Peak Beverage is here to help you create a bar experience that’s every bit as memorable as the occasion itself.

We can’t wait to raise a glass with you this holiday season.
