HR Generalist

Reports to: Director of Operations
Status: Non-exempt, part-time not to exceed 20–25 hours/week

The HRG is responsible for the total HR administration for both companies: Peak Beverage Catering, LLC and Peak Beverage, LLC including payroll, new hires/onboarding, terminations/separations, timekeeping, benefits administration, employee status changes, administering leaves of absence and time away policies, personnel file maintenance, worker’s compensation, and all legal reporting. The HRG is also responsible for keeping all policies and procedures up-to-date with all applicable laws as well as best practices for HR administration as well as ensuring the companies are legally compliant in all HR-related areas. This position supports the strategic HR direction provided by the Director of Operations by assisting in implementing and managing the following processes/programs: performance management, compensation programs, safety, staffing/recruiting, employee relations, training/learning, and employee development.

Duties & responsibilities:

Compensation, Payroll & Benefits

  • Time-keeping: tracking, collecting, processing, and filing

  • Payroll: processing, auditing, and filing

  • Status changes: processing and filing

  • Benefits administration and paperwork: facilitating enrollments including open enrollment and processing changes accordingly

Employee Transactions

  • New hire: processing, administering, reporting, and filing

  • Onboarding: facilitating the process

  • Terminations: facilitating voluntary & involuntary separations including proper documentation and filing

  • Status changes: processing address, personal information, pay changes, and any other employee status change including proper filing

Time Away from Work

  • Consistent administration of time off programs/policies/benefits: holidays, paid time off, etc.
    including proper filing

  • Legally compliant administration of leaves of absences: FMLA, ADA, disability, worker’s compensation
    pursuant to all applicable laws and company policy


  • Comply with all applicable laws concerning employment record-keeping

  • Maintain all personnel files and internal company files relating to HR practices

  • Maintain all I-9 files

  • Maintain all medical files

  • Maintain all worker’s compensation files

Safety & Worker’s Compensation

  • Administer the worker’s compensation insurance program

  • Track and report on all work-related injuries/illnesses

  • Work with key management to update the safety/IIPP manual/program

  • Institute company-wide safety measures, practices, policies, and procedures

  • Comply with all applicable related laws and company policy

Legal Reporting

  • EEO reporting

  • Payroll reporting

  • Unemployment reporting

  • WARN reporting/notices

  • Maintaining and updating required legal posters

Policies & Procedures

  • Maintain proper and consistent management of all policies and procedures

  • Implement practices that align with policies to assist in thorough and consistent application

  • Update all policies and procedures to comply with applicable local, state, and federal laws

Support of Strategic HR Programs/Processes

  • Administer and properly handle/support all other strategic HR programs and processes including but not limited to:

– Implementing recommendations from HR Audit

– Internal company communications

– Performance management

– Compensation programs

– Safety

– Staffing/recruiting

– Employee relations

– Training/learning

– Employee development

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study or equivalent experience

  • 5-10 years of HR generalist experience

  • PHR/SHRM-CP certification

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in relevant software applications including MS Office and google/Gmail

  • Excellent typing/keyboard skills

  • Math skills and working understanding of commonly used mathematical calculations
